Dental implants for dentures and missing teeth. Call today at (619) 754-8508.

Dental implants are changing the way people live! With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life.

The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. The implants are tiny titanium posts, which are placed into the jaw bone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, dental implants can help preserve your facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.

Evaluation For A Dental Implant in Tijuana

If, like many others, you feel implant dentistry is the choice for you, we ask that you undergo a dental/radiographic examination and health history. During these consultation visits, your specific needs and considerations will be addressed by either Dr. Trejo or by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon referred by our practice. Your questions and concerns are important to us and our team will work with you very closely to help make your procedure a success.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost in Tijuana, Mexico?

Dental implants are the gold standard when it comes to tooth replacement, but the superior strength and long-term durability also means that dental implants are the most expensive option for replacing missing teeth. Fortunately, San Diego dental patients have a geographical advantage, offering the opportunity for high-quality, low-cost dental services including dental implants right across the border in Tijuana, Mexico.

Why choose dental implants?

Dental implants have been used for decades to replace teeth that are missing due to injury or decay. Implants are also by far the strongest, longest-lasting, and most natural-looking option compared to alternative methods like crowns, bridges, and dentures. Most importantly, dental implants involve a screw implanted into your jawbone that serves as an anchor for the prosthetic tooth. This prevents your jawbone from deteriorating over time, which is a natural reaction to not having a tooth root in place. Jawbone loss can lead to shifted teeth, loose teeth, more missing teeth, and other unfortunate oral health outcomes. Dental implants will help keep your jawbone and your smile strong and healthy.

Why choose dental implants in Tijuana?

Tijuana offers all the amenities of a major city, including several dental practices that serve patients on both sides of the border. Dentists in Mexico are held to the same strict educational and professional standards as dentists in the U.S.. The main difference between dental offices in the two countries is the cost of services and materials, which are lower across in Mexico. However, lower cost does not translate to lower quality, and the savings are significant for dental implants—especially if pre-implant procedures are required.

How much do dental implants cost in Mexico?

Dental implants actually involve three separate pieces: the titanium implant screw, an abutment that connects the screw and the implant crown, and the crown itself, which is usually made from porcelain but can also be made from zirconia. At BioDental Care in Tijuana, dental implants costs are as follows:

  • Surgical placement of implant: $900
  • Implant abutment: $300
  • Implant crown: $450

The total cost of dental implant surgery could be higher based on any required pre-surgical procedures, such as extractions, sinus lifts, and bone grafts.

How much can I save on dental implants in Tijuana compared to the US and Canada?

In general, you can expect to save anywhere between 40-70% on a wide variety of dental procedures when you select a dentist in Tijuana.

Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implants are metal anchors, which act as tooth root substitutes. They are surgically placed into the jaw bone. Small posts are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth.

For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, dental implants are placed within your jaw bone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums, gradually bonding with the jaw bone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your restorative dentist designs the final bridgework or denture, which will ultimately improve both function and aesthetics.

After the dental implant has bonded to the jaw bone, the second phase begins. The surgeon will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. Dr. Trejo can then start making your new teeth. An impression must be taken. Then posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The replacement teeth are then made over the posts or attachments. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.

I had a great experience with this place. I live in California and have been doing research on places in TJ to get an implant and I ended up picking BioDental Care for these reasons--1) Their... patient coordinator Antonio was a lot more helpful than any of the representatives I spoke to from the other dental clinics in TJ2) They use holistic materials, in particular zirconia ceramic implants as an alternative to titanium. Not a lot of places offer them so this was a big plus for me.3) They are listed with the Better Business Bureau and have an A rating... out of all the clinics I looked at in TJ only 2 were listed with the BBB and BioDental was one of them.4) Their reviews on Yelp, Google and were consistently good... but also one thing I noticed is most clinics in TJ have a lot of 5 star reviews and a lot of 1 star reviews-- leading me to believe some of the 5 star reviews were fake and that the 1 stars were by customers who were really unhappy. This place had a more realistic spread of reviews that seemed like they were from genuine customers, and what negative reviews they did have were over an honest mistake that could happen to any good dentist. As soon as I crossed the border they had their driver pick me up and take me to the clinic... no dealing with taxis or directions. The moment I got out of the car a rep was there waiting for me on the sidewalk. They escorted me to a nearby facility for a CT scan, then took me to their office for the procedure.... everyone spoke perfect English and was very professional. The dentist, Dr. Trejo is very particular and it's clear he holds himself to high standards. After the procedure they had a pharmacy bring my medications up to me in the waiting room so I never had to go fill them... and after everything was done their driver took me back to the border.Their customer experience is incredible... it's basically a luxury dentist office with a patient concierge and private driver. I would recommend to anyone from the US looking for a dentist in more

I fell victim to a dental office this side of the border. After eleven month of run around and misdiagnosis and pain and suffering, I decided to give Tijuana a shot. I was apprehensive and hesitant... and fortunately did a lot of research. I was very lucky to choose BioDental. For a fraction of the cost in US and ten times better customer service, professionalism and expertise I had my problem taken care of. I am definitely going back and recommend them to anyoneI can. Antonio, the patient coordinator is a real pro and extremely friendly. My thanks to the dentists, their assistants and the beautiful ladies at the front desk. Thank you all and Merry Christmas!Far Mofidianread more

5 stars is not enough for the work done by the team at BioDental Care. I was suffering from autoimmune issues and decided it was time to get my metal mercury fillings removed and replaced. It's so... important when doing so to have them removed properly. I went with BioDental Care because they take the right measures in removing these fillings. My first visit I was very nervous as I usually am when going to the dentist, but the atmosphere at BioDental Care really put me at ease. Dr. Trejo, Carmen, Antonio, and the rest of the team are so kind and wonderful. Also, I need to mention the look of the work they did is fantastic. I went to the doctor recently and when she checked my throat she complimented my teeth! If I ever need major dental work again I will not hesitate to reach out to them. I am so thankful for the work they more

When I found that I was in need of extensive dental care, my friend suggested I go to Mexico to save money. That suggestion resulted in an extensive internet search of Tijuana dentists. Dr.... Trejo’s credentials were pretty impressive and fit what I needed to have done. When I contacted the office Tony was very helpful in addressing all my questions. His English is excellent, and he was able to accurately explain what dental procedures I likely needed, the cost and what to expect and why. \In choosing a dental clinic, I had several factors that were important to me: My safety while in Tijuana was at the top of the list. Also, I did not want my health to be effected from mercury removal and chemicals so the fact that this is a holistic dentistry was a good fit. The price quote I was given prior to my coming was accurate and true to the actual cost. My friend was right, in comparison to US costs, I saved a significant amount of money. My initial concerns for my safety were quickly dispelled. The district the clinic is clean, and well maintained. The shuttle that people usually use to get to and from the clinic was shut down due to Covid, so Tony arranged the most attentive, delightful driver who drove me back and forth from the USA. Of note here is that the border waits were a bit long so if that matters take Tony’s suggestion and stay at the new, very nice, safe hotel that is just a block from the clinic. Before my arrival, I had apprehensions as to whether the glowing on-line reviews were honest, and about what the cleanliness of the clinic would be, and if I would be safe. I had a Hollywood version of what Tijuana would be like. Those concerns were quickly dispelled. Now, after returning home and re-reading the reviews, I am in total agreement with the praises that are lavished upon them. The words used in other‘ s reviews give an accurate description : Precise, qualified, meticulous, competent, perfectionist, accommodating, attentive to one’s needs, and truly caring, In addition, as a RN infection control instructor, I found them to be very clean and I did not see one breach in aseptic techniques. The team work was also remarkable, all of the staff know and do their jobs well, and are fully client and service centered. I was fortunate to also have Dr. Alma Barron Plata work on me. She is truly an angel in disguise as she is highly technically competent and attentive to detail, all while being gentle, kind, and caring. If I had only one word to describe their care and the dental work I received it would be--Outstanding. Excellent could also be used. I am more

These guys literarily gave me back my life... they are amazing at what they do!! For 6 years I battled with dental problems, and now I regret not knowing them sooner, because I’m pretty certain I... would have saved a lot of money, time and even some tooth extractions. Before meeting the people of Biodental care, my dental problems had caused me systemic medical problems to where other dentists, (like Dr Edgar of Bioimplant center), had made several costly mistakes, to where I continued going back to them for repeated surgeries which they’d still charge me for. It costed me a lot of money, time, pain and inconvenience. Biodental care, is different. They have so far made my dental experience in Tijuana a wonderful experience. I have never had to return to correct a mistake, one touch and that’s it! Like wow! I’m telling you, the Drs here are highly knowledgeable! This clinic repaired the mess that Dr Edgar of Bioimplant center did to my mouth!I am so glad I found this place.. they are very thorough in their work. The rooms are super clean, and the Drs are super kind. My health has since improved tremendously, and I can’t be happier. I’m keeping this Dr!read more
